Forest Hill Karate club celebrates its new home
~ Free first lesson for new and returning students ~
Forest Hill’s Ishin Ryu Karate Club is celebrating its move to a new home, Total Body Fitness gym on David’s Road, by offering a free first lesson to all new and returning students during the month of May. The move is prompted by the levels of enthusiasm shown by existing students in the first year of the club.
“When I opened the club, in Summer 2005, I was impressed by the levels of interest in Karate in Forest Hill,” explained the club’s Sensei (Instructor) Dinojan Yogan. “The club has gone from strength to strength and the majority of the students who began last year have already progressed in their Karate and taken one or two belts.”
Dinojan, a second Dan (level) black belt went on to explain the benefits of the martial art. “Karate helps keep you fit and healthy and a typical session will incorporate half an hour of aerobic exercise as well as time spent practicing the techniques of Ishin Ryu and sparring. Despite the macho image of martial arts we are a very friendly and welcoming club, with plenty of young students as well as adults of both genders.”
Forest Hill Ishin Ryu Karate club is held on Saturday afternoons between four and five o’clock at Total Body Fitness on David’s Road in Forest Hill. New students should wear loose comfortable clothing such a tracksuit.
